When it comes to christmas trees, we love the smell of a real tree, but faux trees, like the one we've used here from Amara, have come a long way...They are now a great option.

We began by setting up the tree in a grey-washed wicker basket to give a nod to the log cabin roots of the Scandi look and hide the tree base in a beautiful way. Then we went for as many lights as we could get on – here we’ve used warm white led on green wire. The lights are so important as we aren’t using tinsel or garlands on the tree here. The baubles we’ve chosen are all paper or metal or glass to keep a coherent look that is natural with a touch of contemporary glam.
A wreath doesn't have to be just for outside. Try layering on over an existing circular mirror for a gorgeous effect. Or, even if you don't have a circular mirror, use a gold chain or ribbon of choice to hang it for extra decorative effect.

Dried hydrangea heads add depth and texture to the faux green garlands on the fireplace that are pre-lit for ease. Don't throw away your hydrangeas year round, dry them (and any other seed heads or foliage you might have) so that you can add an earthy warmth to displays. You can even pop these into the tree before you put the baubles on as an alternative to tinsel or paper chains.
Start collecting some luxury tree decorations like these by Georg Jensen. They look great alongside the more modest paper decs and you can grow your collection each year, bit by bit...

Bringing the essence of this snowy hideaway to the rest of the room, the special edition Wedgewood snowglobe is a family heirloom in the making that can be cherished for many family Christmases to come. Likewise, these George Jensen tree decorations in gold are so beautiful they need to become part of your Christmas look and may even make a collector out of you. A vintage decanter and cut glass tumblers elevate the other, more modest, materials and give you the chance to offer your guests a warming tipple. The reflective surface of this stunning coffee table by Amara, with its foxed mirror top, also ties the mixed metallics together and gives the more humble elements a luxe vibe.
