Designing a shower room of dreams
If you, like us, love a moment of escapism when you take a shower, we’ve designed a dramatic shower room to inspire you.
Drawing inspiration from Miami and Milan via David Lynch, our latest interior is designed around the new flagship range of Sealskin duka enclosures and wetroom screens. Showcasing their tailor made service and the range of glass and metal work finishes available. Every space we design is an opportunity to bring a fantasy into reality and the fact that this space is a bathroom did not hold us back from going deep into that fantasy.
Smoked glass and pill shaped mirrors.
The quality of the sliding shower screen meant the functionality was taken care of so it offered us the freedom to unleash our creativity.
Here we used the acqua 5000 because we loved its minimal design and the soft close and soft open sliding mechanism. It elevates the whole experience. Making the most of the different finishes and bespoke options, we have used the smoked glass and brushed nickel finish with a larger than average opening for the shower to make it feel all the more wonderful. Layering the space with textured plaster walls, a checkerboard floor across an Impey Aqua-Dec Linear 4 wetroom floor former and a smoked glass sliding shower door. Contrasting the minimalist lines of the Sealskin duka shower doors with our favourite voluptuous curves on the window and bespoke basin console.
Brushed nickel is the perfect finish on the metalwork here, giving a retro futurism edge and cooling down the scheme of rich pinks and caramel.
We envisioned the space for daytime functionality and night time atmosphere. Shooting it in a darker lighting state feels more authentic to the way we use our bathrooms. As much end of day indulgence as it is a streamlined space for morning rituals.
Lighting for day and for night, with a showpiece pendant light from our capsule collection for Cameron Design House and strip lighting inside the shower area, as well as wall lights at the sink area. Giving options for lighting states at different times.
Atmosphere is everything in a bathroom. And the smoked glass here is so sexy
There is also such attention to detail in the way the shower screen has been designed so that nothing takes you out of the fantasy. From the soft close action to the clip at the bottom that allows easy access for cleaning and the flush fitted clean lines of the sturdy sliding mechanism. These are all little touches that make it more pleasing to use.
There are three award-winning Sealskin duka ranges and all are hand made with a sustainably responsible ethos. No stock is held, with every enclosure made to order from European sourced components and delivered in four weeks from the point of order. That feels rare to us in our experience specifying bathrooms, so we love to see it.
